Trying to interpret the theme and selecting a fitting image from archives, took more time than usual, here issue was with options 🙂
If you ever happens to travel in the temple state of Tamil Nadu, you won’t come back empty handed, but with a bucket full of incredible images from the temples and palaces.
Let me share a few images taken during our visit to Thanjavur palace and museum.
Wonderful photos definitely capturing ‘works of art’. Beautiful.

Hehehehe….Not extensively but yes, decently. And unfortunately, I have not been able to write about most of the places. Hoping to pen about them one by one. Thanks for ‘traveling’ by my blogs 🙂

I don’t know if you received my other comment, Sreejith, but here I go again. These images you are giving us are of a world most of us have never seen. I LOVE the first one with the flower petals in the water. The color and the simplicity of that picture, the form of the circle, the water, just gorgeous capture. All your images are stunning, just Perfection. Thank you so much for showing me India through your lens. xx Amy

Hello Amy, Thank you so much 🙂
I am so happy that you liked this set of images learned quite a few things here.
Even a simple image could be attractive and people would be able to appreciate it, if it’s pleasant and brings a grin to ones face, right?

Some times we struggle to present a fitting image though the theme could be a simple one, right?
Here, I couldn’t decide what to choose, then finally shared a set of diverse images, though from the same place 🙂

You are absolutely right, most of the great temples of India are built around 1000 AD, and the skill of the sculptures of that era, is just mind boggling 🙂

ahhh…. choices, choices- you said that right – it can be so hard to select at times.
and well, I like the four you give us here…. and my favorite it that first one.
something about the looking down – the clarity you give us – then the way the bright colors – with the white – contrast against the stone – then the hard stone contrasting with the softness of the water and petals – and then the old feel of that stone structure wight he fresh lively feeling of the floating petals – and there is more in this shot… but , well – O_O — 🙂
the other photos really show us that Thanjavur is one artsy place – and that last photo took my breathe away – the arches – the upshot view on an angle give even more wow to the designs and the color – stunning….

Colorful, beautiful and powerful – both, your pictures and Thanjavur Palace. My aunt often told me about Tamil Nadu, about all these beautiful temples and palaces. Unfortunately I’ve only been in the North of India. But who know, one day I will travel around the south and visit all the beautiful places you show us. 🙂
Best regards,

Yea, I use Picasa to do the basic cropping and embedding my name on the image.
It’s a simple but very useful tool, but very limited scope for creativity 🙂

Hello Bama,
I am really glad that you liked the images, and you are absolutely right, Tanjavur temple and palace are really worth exploring.
In fact, if we set aside a couple more days, there are some grand temples in “Kumbakonam” and “Tiruchirappalli”.
The scale of the temples and the architecture is really mind boggling.
