Sreejith another astounding photo. Can you explain what he is doing?

He’s a fisherman, collecting the “Mussels” from the rocks under water.
I watched him for a long time, it’s real hard work, he had to literally fight the waves.
He always keeps an eye on the waves, bends down, and collect the mussels attached to the rocks with the machete. If he sense a strong wave on it’s way, he had to retreat instantly.
I thought of sharing the whole series here, but, finally picked the one which I thought, is pretty expressive 🙂

Wow, another fascinating photo from your side of the world. What a great shot! I was curious as well so I scrolled down to see if anyone asked what the man was doing, and I read “mussels”. Just wow, Sreejith, just wow!!! Thank you again, for sharing! Love, Amy

What about mussels? Have you ever tasted it? It’s a common dish in our place, being close to sea it’s easily available too.

I don’t believe I have ever had mussles, Sreejith. Do they taste anything like clams, because I have had clams. xx Amy

The title of this post caught my eye. One of my favorite books is Ernest Hemingway’s The old man and the sea. I hope you have read the book. Your description of the picture in one of the comments brings the whole scene in front of my eyes. The fisherman’s facial and upper body muscles in the photo complete the story. Beautiful job Sreejith!

As soon as I saw this action getting unfolded in front of me, I remembered the old man “Santiago” and his struggles in sea. So this title came naturally 🙂
Thank you so much, Charu, for stopping by and for your nice comments 🙂

The best part about this image is, something we could easily relate to, like the character from the famous book “The old man and the sea”.
And it really shows the struggles of life, common people, goes through through, each and every day, right?
Thank you so much, Noortje 🙂

The sea was very rough and the rocks were slippery, only with years of experience, this old man managed to collect some mussels that day.
I watched the whole action with awe 🙂
