    1. It was the first time that I have seen such a big Butterfly/Moth … and luckily this guy was slow and I got enough time to get closer and shoot some images.

Thank you so much for your visit and appreciative comment 🙂

So good to find your beautiful blog with some great macro image…

      Have a great time 🙂

    1. It’s really really big… life a bird, nearly a foot long wingspan…

It was my first experience spotting the biggest month on the planet and that too in my garden 🙂

Thank you so much for your visit and glad you liked the post, Sarah 🙂

        1. Even my kids had the same feeling…

When it flew away, it looked like a bird in slow motion. It gave an impression that it’s wings are far too heavy for it’s small body.

A good experience for us any way 🙂

    1. Absolutely, Amy… it’s huge and beautiful 🙂

Lucky to spot it and photograph… as always, my wife was the one to spot such interesting things in nature and I was there with my camera in in instant 🙂

So glad you liked this post 🙂

      Have a beautiful day 🙂

      1. I’ve been out and about with another photographer here and there and I’ve noticed how much easier it is with 2 pairs of eyes versus one pair. Keep having fun with your camera. I hope you had a beautiful day today, Sreejith! 💝

    1. Thank you so much, Eliza 🙂

It was quite an experience… I haven’t seen anything even half it’s size before …

It’s also called Snake Headed butterfly for the beautiful patterns at the top ends of it’s wings…

        1. So good to see that, you too get such beautiful guests in your garden 🙂

Moths are very cooperative when filming them but it’s hard to get a good butterfly shot 🙂

Have a beautiful day, Eliza 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words 🙂

I always missed a macro lens when I spot beautiful butterflies in our garden, but this time even a wide angle lens was good enough 🙂

Such a beautiful creature… quite an experience indeed 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Dalo 🙂

      You are absolutely right …

For me the best way to relax is getting closer to nature and try capturing images of flowers, small insects, butterflies etc; it has a meditating effect.

Whether or not these photos are worth sharing or publishing, they opens up a new world to me, a word of beauty and wonder…

This visitor was no exception either 🙂

  1. I have only seen this moth in indoor butterfly gardens.
Lucky you, you got to see this one in the wild. It is such a thrill to capture nature in the wild, compared to when they are restricted or worse caged.
