Indeed.. they are.
They belong to the indigenous community in Wayanad, Kerala and they were having a great time in the paddy fields catching fish.
Monsoon is truly a great time for all and especially for kids.
We all have fond memories of the Monsoon time in our childhood days like, swimming, mud football, playing in water and skipping classes to catch fish.
We took a full day Monsoon walk through the villages of Wayanad and it was a great experience.
Thank you so much, Sarmistha, for stopping by 🙂

Ah Sreejith, this must be a great experience to have a full day of Monsoon walk.
And when you talk of childhood and monsoon we all have so many fond memories like splashing water from a puddle, getting drenched while returning from school in the uniform with raincoats and umbrellas folded in the bag, sailing paper boat and so on. 😀
Thanks for the post to reminisce the good old childhood memories. 🙂

Absolutely, rain is an integral part of our childhood memories 🙂
Quite interestingly, in Kerala, Monsoon reaches exactly when the schools reopen after the summer vacations.
But, now a days, the pattern is changing and we already had back to back flood situations in Kerala, a direct impact of climate change.
In our vast country, I think, rain is the most common topic to get a conversation started with anyone, right ?
Have a beautiful day ahead 🙂

The face of the kid smiling and the scenery of the blue chruch sky in the background reflecting the innocent child’s pureness of heart..A picture worth clicking.

Thank you so much Neha for your observant comments 🙂
We were on a Monsoon walk in Wayanad and while crossing a vast paddy field, met these kids.
They were catching fish which were trapped in the field when water level went high in the stream flowing through it.
Monsoon is truly magical and turns the whole landscape to a green carpet.
These kinds belong to the indigenous community and the whole family is involved in such fishing practices which happens only during the first weeks of Monsoon. Kids even give their classes a miss and join their families in fishing…
