    1. I am on the same boat 🙂

Even I am not quite sure about the other two…

If you click on the image, you could see the same caption “Guess who” … waiting for some clues from friends here…

Thank you so much for stopping by, Anil 🙂

You are no stranger to either western or Indian music… 🙂

I think you would just love these amazing guys performing with a Sitar, right 🙂

  2. Marley, Hendrix (in his home town right now!), and MJ…what a trio of talent. Beautiful…will put on a Hendrix album now (actually a MP3…how times have changed). Cheers!

    1. Hello Dalo,

Really sorry for the late response, it’s been over a month 🙂

When I saw this wall art, created by an anonymous artist, I could easily identify MJ but the other two were quite unknown to me.

But as I saw the passionate comments from people, I searched for Marley and Hendrix. This really opened up, a different kind of music I was not used to, but simply wonderful 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope you are doing great 🙂

  3. It’s funny to read the comments. I recognized Bob Marley immediately, then Jimmy Hendrix…and I had to think awhile about that last guy… ha ha then I got it. But to read the comments, many people recognized Michael Jackson first. It’s a beautiful concept: to bring them together. Wish I could buy tickets to that show.

    1. Yea, that would really be an awesome event, with the three greats performing together 🙂

To be frank, I could identify only MJ when I saw this piece of art on a wall.

I had to wait for the comments to identify the other two greats, and now I started listening to their music as well 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by and it took quite a long time for me to reply 🙂

    1. I think so…

I was just taking a stroll in Fort Kochi, the old part of the city and noticed this.

I heard that, there are many interesting images like this, is seen in this area, and the person behind is still not revealed his identity.

People love this work anyway 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a beautiful day ahead 🙂

  4. Bob Marley on the left and MJ on the right. The middle one looks familiar but I can’t put a finger on it…but I see the commentors are saying Hendrix. Musical legends.

This is a great drawing on a wall. I am assuming you saw this in India. Seems that Western music is very popular over there, and in Asia in general. From the art, I gather that these three musicians are very well known in India…wearing what looks like Indian cultural attire.

Never knew art as good as this exist in India 🙂

    1. Mabel, if you google art and India, you would be overwhelmed with the amount of information and the variety you would find 🙂

But, this one is created by an unknown artist who paint at night at random places in Fort Kochi, the old colonial part of the city.

I was there is December for an art festival (you can find the details here, “http://kochimuzirisbiennale.org/ ) and found this work by chance.

As you guessed, western music is quite popular in India, and I used to listen hit songs of MJ while in school.

But the other two greats are unheard of and only now, after this post, I could explore their music 🙂

      1. You are welcome, Sreejith. My New Year has started in a painful way, yet joyful one. My Dad just passed two days ago. His suffering is finally over and he is now HOME where he has longed to be for a long time. I have gained another “angel” now when I use my camera, for he himself was an artist and a musician. More magic, more so then ever, will be coming to Petals. (((HUGS))) Amy

  5. well I recognized Hendrix first – and then MJ – but did not get the Marley until i read the comments. fun capture sreejith!!

and regarding Jimi Hendrix, two things –
first – there is a museum in D.C. that has a room that is supposed to replicate the 1960’s and 70’s. You go in and they have cots on the floor and then these cool lights going all around – and the music includes a Jimi Hendrix tune – might be his song called “purple haze” but it is very cool.

    and second,
Jimi Hendrix is famous for playing the star spangled banner – including playing it at the famous “Woodstock” event – but he also played it with his teeth a couple of times and well, he also is famous for playing a right handed (fender strat) guitar upside down – he was left handed but they only made right handed guitars in 1969 and so he flipped his guitar around and restrung it to make it left handed….

I could identify MJ instantly, but the other two are quite unknown to me.

But this post has received so many enthusiastic responses and I started searching for more information on Marley and Hendrix and their music.

I was really blown away by one of Hendrix’s performance, what an amazing talent!!!

I think these two greats are part of the popular culture in your part of the world.

But, MJ is really a global star and I am a huge fan.

“The Earth Song” and “No one really care about us” are my favorites…
      🙂

I was in fact gone to this old colonial part of the city (Kochi) for a grand art festival and found this beautiful work of art near a boat jetty.

The person behind this work does not want to reveal his identity and leaves a sign “Guess Who? ”

So nice to see your comment, Paula 🙂
